Questions and answers
What changes for my visitors?
Usually nothing they'd notice. Their requests go through our servers, which add a few milliseconds. Now and then a browser may be asked to solve a short check by itself, for example when your rules or the under-attack switch ask for it.
Do I need my own certificate?
Not for visitors: we get and renew a certificate for each of your domain names. Between us and your server, you choose: HTTPS with your server's own certificate (verified when it can be), or unencrypted HTTP.
Does my server still see visitors' addresses?
Yes, in the X-Forwarded-For and X-Real-IP headers (and the scheme in X-Forwarded-Proto). Set your web server or application to read them; otherwise your logs show our servers' addresses.
What if rexguard stops a legitimate visitor?
Switch the site to monitor mode, add an exception to the signature that stopped it, or add a rule that allows such requests. Paid plans see each request and its reason on the Traffic tab.
What happens when my paid plan ends?
Without payment, 14 days of grace with everything as before. Then the account moves to Free: you choose which site stays, and the others keep working with Free's features for 30 more days before they leave our network.
Is there a limit on traffic?
No plan limits requests. If a Free account's traffic is far above normal use for a longer time, we get in touch and ask it to move to a paid plan.
What data do you keep, and for how long?
Requests with visitors' IP addresses for 14 days; pseudonymized records without addresses and statistics for a year. The details are in the privacy policy and the data processing agreement.
How do I leave?
Point your domain names back to your server, remove the site in the portal, and delete your account if you like (download a copy of your data first). Within 14 days of paying, you can ask for a refund of your latest order.
How do I reach you?
Through Support in the portal or at info@rexguard.app. We answer within 24 hours on working days, within 4 hours when the service is down.
